Many days have gone by since our departure. We have travelled many kilometres, visited a lot of places, many things have happened. And yes, we have been short on posts and news! But now we hope that's about to change. Nevertheless, let's start from the beginning.
Our great adventure started immediately with a mishap. Our Iberia flight from Porto to Madrid that would connect us to a direct flight to Buenos Aires departed with one hour delay. We learned later on, from other fellow travellers that this delay was quite common in this flight, although we couldn't discover a real reason for this delay. The problem was that we had just a little more than one hour of connection time. That meant a lot of running when we landed at the Barajas Airport. Luckily we didn't need to change terminal so we ended up just in time to our gate. We were quite happy to see that there were still a lot of passengers boarding!
Then, right on the entrance, our boarding was denied. Yes, we had the bad luck to experience just another air company trick to earn more money. We had checked-in, we had the tickets and we were at the gate on time. No plausible explanation was given to us, rather some cheap excuses. Well, in our understanding overbooking is clearly stepping on customers rights and is amazing how companies do it all the time.
In the end this delay maybe was meant to be. After rescheduling our flight we had some free time in Madrid. And what great opportunity to meet good friends! In some strange way, we could even thank Iberia for the chance of a great evening with Bruno and Taty, eating mexican food and drinking "La Virgen", a beer "madrileña".
